The country’s economy grew by 7.1 percent in the third-quarter of the year.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Tuesday, Nov. 9, that the gross domestic product (GDP) slowed down from 12 percent in the second-quarter, but a reversal of the 11.6 percent contraction registered in July to September 2020.

Growth in the third quarter brought the end-September GDP at 4.9 percent, settling at the high end of the government’s reduced target of 4.0 percent to 5.0 percent for the year.
