Unemployment rate in the country dropped from 7.7 percent in June to 6.9 percent in July, the lowest jobless rate since the pandemic broke out last year, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported Tuesday, Sept. 7.


According to the PSA, total unemployed individuals declined by around 700,000 in July from the reported 3.8 million in the previous month. This translates to 3.1 million jobless Filipinos in July.

Likewise, PSA noted that the latest jobs number is fewer by 1.5 million compared with the 4.6 million in July last year.
